– Rep. Steve Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware) announced today that a Keystone grant for $85,000, funded through the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund, was approved to benefit Rachel Kohl Library.
The funding will be used to replace the library’s HVAC system and add natural gas service.
“It’s critical to invest in our libraries, as they provide opportunities for both learning and relaxation, as well as a way for families without computers to apply for jobs that are posted online,” Barrar said. “Libraries are the hub of our communities.”
The Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund was established by an act of the General Assembly in 1993. The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), through the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, Bureau of Library Development, administers the public library portion of this program, which is funded from a portion of realty transfer taxes.
