HARRISBURG – Rep. Steve Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware) is encouraging eligible in-state businesses and out-of-state companies relocating to the Commonwealth to apply to the Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA) to access training funds.
“The funding can be used for a wide variety of training, and that training can be provided onsite, offsite or online,” Barrar said. “WEDnetPA is customizable to best suit each business’s individual needs.”
Already in the 160th District, Kaolin Mushroom Farms Inc., KBX Golden LLC and Nielsen Kellerman collectively received $26,751 as an investment in their employee training needs.
Focusing mainly on the manufacturing and technology industries, WEDnetPA offers training assistance to help Pennsylvania’s workforce improve its essential and technical job skills. Training opportunities range from basic math and communications to advanced machine operations and software engineering.
WEDnetPA is funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development through the Commonwealth’s appropriation to the PA First fund.
