Barrar to Lead House Committee in Vote on 9-1-1 Center Funding Legislation
WHAT: Rep. Stephen E. Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware), majority chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, will lead the committee in its consideration of several bills, including: 

  • House Bill 583, which would encourage regionalization and cost-sharing measures for county 9-1-1 centers and other provisions to make the 9-1-1 Wireless Fund solvent.
  • House Bill 119, which would adopt an official EMS Memorial Flag for line-of-duty EMS personnel deaths.
  • House Bill 500, which would include Pennsylvania Civil Air Patrol members in the Emergency Responder Death Benefit Act.
  • House Bill 472, which would allow all veterans and their dependents to attend Pennsylvania public institutions of higher learning at in-state tuition rates.
  • House Bill 179, which would require insurance providers to directly reimburse EMS providers for services.
