Barrar Announces Annual Health and Safety Fair
GLEN MILLS – Mark your calendar for Rep. Stephen E. Barrar’s (R-Chester/Delaware) annual Health and Safety Fair on Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Brandywine Youth Club, O’Donoghue Field House, 41 Thornton Road in Glen Mills (Concord Township).

“This is a great event for the whole family, with fun activities for kids and helpful information for parents about local health and safety services,” Barrar said. “This is definitely one of my favorite events of the year, and I look forward to seeing some new faces as well as familiar ones from past fairs.”

The Health and Safety Fair features a variety of representatives from state and local government agencies, area nonprofit organizations and other local service providers. Participants will be able to receive blood pressure screenings, health assessments and balance tests.

Several performances are planned, including jazzercise and the Kennett YMCA’s Sh’Bam exercise programs, as well as a K-9 unit demonstration.

The Pennsylvania National Guard will again be at the fair with one its Humvees and the Concordville Fire Company will bring one of its ambulances for display. In addition, 911 emergency mobile units from Delaware and Chester counties will be on hand, as well the PA Mobile Veterans’ Outreach Van.

There also will be free face painting and refreshments.

Sponsors of the event include Aqua, Comcast, Exelon Generation and Verizon.

RSVPs are not necessary for this event, but individuals who have a question may call Barrar’s office at (610) 358-5925.
