Saccone Chairs Meeting to Discuss Veterans Programs, Services
HARRISBURG – Rep. Rick Saccone (R-Allegheny/Washington), chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee’s Subcommittee on Military and Veterans Facilities, will lead a meeting Tuesday, Aug. 12, to explore veterans programs and services.

“Our veterans have sacrificed so much for our country, and very often those sacrifices impact their lives long after they have left the service,” said Saccone, himself a U.S. Air Force veteran. “It is important to periodically assess the effectiveness of the programs and services we have in place to ensure our veterans are getting the help and support they need and deserve.”

The informational meeting will begin at 1 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Military Museum, 51 Boal Ave. in Boalsburg. Among those scheduled to testify are:
• Brig. Gen. Jerry Beck, deputy adjutant general for veterans affairs, Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA).
• Michelle Staton, deputy secretary for workforce development, Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
• John Brenner, chairman of the Pennsylvania State Veterans Commission.
• Kit Watson, state adjutant for the American Legion, Department of Pennsylvania.
• John Cyprian of Butler County, president, Pennsylvania Association of County Directors of Veterans Affairs.
• Afshin Khosravi, CEO, Trilogy Integrated Resources.

Rep. Steve Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware), who chairs the Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, will also be in attendance, as will other members of the committee.
