Programs for Seniors

If you are a senior citizen on a fixed income who is struggling to make ends meet, Pennsylvania has many valuable programs that may be able to help you.

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program allows senior citizens to collect a rebate on the property taxes or rent they paid in the previous year.  The amount of the rebate is based on income and cannot exceed the amount paid for rent or property taxes.

I have heard from many seniors who have difficulty affording their property taxes, and I want you to know that I am fighting in Harrisburg for a more equitable funding system for public schools.  I have also introduced legislation to freeze property taxes for senior citizens until we can come up with a better way to pay for public education than our current regressive property tax system.

PACE, PACENET and PACE Plus Medicare are Pennsylvania’s prescription assistance programs for older adults, offering low-cost prescription medication to qualified residents age 65 and older.
